چکیده

Radium-226, an alpha emitter with half-life 1600 years, is ubiquitous in natural environments. Present rocks and soils, it also absorbed by vegetation. The efficiency of 226Ra uptake plants from the soil important to assess for study heavy metals plants, monitoring radioactive pollution, biogeochemical cycle radium Critical Zone. Lifetime risk assessment of Radium-226 in drinking water samples

Background: One of the most significant radionuclides in natural drinking waters is 226Ra and its decay products. It is potential of health problems, including cancer risk. In this study, the effect of 226Ra concentration in 28 drinking water samples collected from the North Guilan province was investigated. Materials and Methods: The activity concentrations of 226Ra were measured by using of r...

Cadmium uptake by plants.

Food chain contamination by cadmium (Cd) is the most important pathway of Cd exposure to the general population, excluding smokers. Factors affecting transfer of Cd from soil and air to plants are reviewed. The direct deposition of airborne Cd in the plants has only a marginal influence on the crop Cd concentrations in rural areas with low atmospheric Cd deposition, i.e. < 2 g Cd ha(-1) y(-1). ...

Assessment of radon-222 and radium-226 radioactivity concentration in the mineral and drinking water of Sareyn city

The main objective of this research is measurement and assessment of the Radon-222 and Radium-226 radioactive levels in mineral water and drinking water in the Sareyn city. The guidelines used for Radon-222 and Radium-226 radiation sampling and analysis were ASTM D: 5072-09 and ISO 13165-1: 2013, respectively. The concentration of Radon-222 and radium-226 in mineral water and drinking water sam...
